MIDDLE CHILDHOOD AND ADOLESCENCE EDUCATION
Assistant/Associate Professor

The Department of Education in the School of Arts and Sciences at The College of New Rochelle, invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor rank, available September, 2010. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate foundations and methods courses in middle childhood and adolescence education, supervise field placements, advise students, and collaborate with colleagues in the educational community.  The candidate may also teach and assist in the development of an Adolescence Education Program at the graduate level, and assist with RATE accreditation reviews and program development.

Requirements include a doctorate in education, and experience in teacher education, curriculum and instruction, as well as a strong record of undergraduate teaching and/or public school teaching experience with students of diverse populations.  Expertise in technology and ESL is highly desirable, as is an interest in Social Studies. 

The College of New Rochelle is a small, Catholic college, founded in the Ursuline tradition that serves a diverse population of undergraduate women.  It is located just outside New York City.  The School of Arts and Sciences welcomes applicants from all backgrounds who can contribute to our unique educational mission of providing a strong liberal arts education.
